Summit Housing Group (SHG) is a growing development company based in beautiful Western Montana. We specialize in market rate, town homes, build to rent and low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) developments. To date, SHG has built, been awarded, or has under construction 35 properties (1,696 units) spanning Montana, South Dakota, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming.

Summit Housing Group, Inc., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Summit Management Group, Inc.


Paul joined Summit Housing Group in 2021 as President. Paul has significant experience in both property management and development having served as director of management with approximately 10,000 units and director of development of both market rate and affordable projects. Paul received his BBA from Belmont University in Nashville, TN and also holds the Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) designation. Prior to his tenure in housing development, Paul spent 20 years in investment banking followed by 10 years in the private sector in multiple COO/CEO roles. 


Sam joined the company in October 2010 as a Senior Project Manager. Sam has over 9 years of experience in the HTC industry and is CP3 certified. His primary responsibilities include land acquisition, project budgeting, and due diligence activities for all projects. During his time at SHG, he has participated in the development of over 10 projects in the states of Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Utah. He also has experience utilizing a combination of complex financing structures including LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, and conventional debt. Sam graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and has 7 years of management experience.


Austin joined Summit in 2020 with over 10 years of business development and project management experience. Austin manages all our multi-family developments currently in Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana. Austin works hand-in-hand with Summit Housing Group in developing a plan and bid process in order to receive awards in multi states and with local and regional contractors to bid and complete developments in a timely and cost-efficient manner.


Valerie joined Summit in 2021 as a Project Coordinator. She worked previously, for over 5 years, as a project accountant for one of the largest general contractors in the northwest. She graduated from the College of Great falls with dual degrees in accounting and business management in the spring of 2014. Valerie helps manage all our projects job costs, draws, contracts and general paperwork. Valerie also works hand in hand with the development team, construction team, architects and engineers to insure projects are completed in a timely, efficient manner.


Summit Management Group, Inc. is the parent company of Summit Housing Group, Inc., Summit Construction Group, Inc., and Highland Property Management, Inc.


Scott formed Summit Management Group in 2002. Since then the Summit Team has devloped over 35 different properties in 5 states. Scott also formed and is a principle for S.G. Long Financial Services, an NASD broker/dealer. Additionally, he is the managing member of SL Ranch, a cattle ranch in southwest Montana. Scott is involved in multiple charitable activites including the Board for Pawsabilites, a group that provides service dogs for the physially challenged. He is also on the Board of St. Patrick’s Providence Hospital, WSMA Community Ministry and the Betty H Long Foundation. Scott Graduated from the university of Montana in 1981 with a Master of Arts degree.


Matt has been with the Summit Family for over two years as the Human Resources Manager. Previously, Matt worked for several years in restaurant management and temporary staffing management before entering the world of Multifamily Human Resources. He prides himself on putting the ‘Human’ in Human Resources.


Autumn joined the Summit Family in January 2022. Autumn graduated in 2010 from Keller Graduate School with a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management. She brings with her over 15 years of experience in both private and public sectors of accounting and financial management.

Naomi Hartung

Naomi joined the Summit Family in 2019 as a property manager for Highland Property Management. Later in 2020 she was promoted to Regional Manager. Naomi has over 14 years of industry experience. Including A+ Properties and Low-Income Housing.
